All W.I.Ps!

I know, it's been about 1000 years since last time. Sorry about that. But, no matter what, I never stop crocheting, so here are some of my current Work in progress.

This is a butterfly in the thinnest thread I have. I am going to stiffen it in sugar water when it is done, I think. [Pattern here]

This is my first pineapple doily, the only thing that's left is the last round, I just grew tired of it. I do think it is really pretty, though. [Pattern here]

Here's a small doily I started just to test how the colors would look. Just lacking a few rounds here too, I must be lazy or something. [Pattern here] 

Here is my biggest wip. I've started to myself s rag-rug(Fillerye) I've been running around on fleamarkets  buying old t-shirts. Cutting them into 2.5 cm thick "threads" and the crocheting with a 15 mm hook. I had to learn to hold the hook differently from what I'm used to, because my arm really started to hurt after a while. I'm making the rug oval, and hopefully it'll not get to long one way, because I have no measurements or a pattern!

This one is actually finished. It is a doily (doh) made in mohair yarn. [Pattern here] 


I've noticed that the links lead to a page looking a bit strange, but give it some time, and the pattern(s) will appear.

Also, I have some other wips and finished projects since last, but I'll get to those later.

My first doily!

I'm sorry about the delay. I was going to make the next post about my pillows, but I decided to wait because of Christmas. But anyway. This post will be about my first doily. Me and my flatmate Tea realized we needed something to have on our sofa corner "table." And off course I went to Ravelry to find something easy and quick. And here is the result:


It is in fact very easy. As usual I used the Østlandgarn yarn. And I think it worked great. It would seem finer if I had used thin cotton thread, but it is expensive, and the doily would not be as big.

Fathers day is celebrated the second weekend of November in Norway, and I made a fruit basket for my father as a fathers day gift.



This time I made a different basket and it turned out a bit bigger than the one I made last time. But the fruit did not turn out any bigger so I think I need to make some more fruit to fill it up.

Hamburger

This is the last project I finished before the summer. It is also the last crocheted food project I have finished. I don't know if I'll be making any more crocheted food, but we'll see. Chances are that Odin would like some more. Anyway. It is, as most of my other projects, made out of Østlandsgarn from Nille, since this is the cheapest available yarn. It is made after the recipe from the book Tasty Crochet.

Update!

It is really long since the last time I wrote something here. The reason is that I've moved, and have not had the energy to crochet. A lot of things have happened since last time. I've moved down a floor with my dog, friend and our landlady. And this is where the shit started. We were meant to move down to a newly remodeled apartment, but the handymen weren't as handy as they said they were, and the apartment still isn't done. We have no working kitchen, no door like the other or closing at all, bathroom tiles not aligned and a lot more faults! My new room is a lot smaller than the one I had upstairs to, and Zelda have had to sleep with me, because of all the workers that have been running in and out for the last month. On top of all this my antidepressants have made me restless and really been tearing at my energy. Also. Eirik, my boyfriend have gone to Canada, and he is going to stay there 'till may of next year. Yay! I've started a new school year also.

But now I'm back on the thread and honestly can understand why I didn't pick it up before! The next two posts will be a project I finished before the summer and one about the one I'm on at the moment!

Earrings, again.

Now I can blog about my fathers birthday gift: potholders! I used a pattern that I think is copied from a book. (I borrowed it from a friend, so I'm not really sure.) I used a lot thicker yarn, so they came out a lot thicker than the original, but they are at least very isolating! As you can see they are made using two threads of two different colors. It starts up by the ring, working back and forth in the back loops only. Because I used thicker yarn and doubled it I used twice as much yarn as the pattern said. But I think they are lovely, and I'm most likely going to make a pair for my self in black and purple. Or maybe hot pink and black? We'll see.

Yesterday I felt a little better, so I decided to make some earrings of the yarn I bought last week. Using this pattern(It is basically the granny square.) I made a pair of each color.

I also took pictures of some of the other earrings I've made. The paw print earrings I've been talking about. And heart earrings from this pattern. As you can see they are meant to be a lot smaller, but I didn't have thin enough yarn. Yarn is expensive, so I tend to use what I've got. The black heart earrings are some of the first things I've made in a good while, where I've used cotton yarn in stead of wool. The paw prints I've also made in hot pink and gray. The pink I gave away to my mother and the gray is around here somewhere, I'm just not sure where. I also found a picture of some earrings similar to the first earrings I posted, just different colors, obviously. The green themed one I made for my mother, and the black and pink is mine.
Also yesterday, as I was so full of energy, I laid out all the crochet pattern books I have on the table and took a picture of them.

And I would like to point out that the pictures are horrible, huge and way off in just about any way possible in this post because I beat my mac asunder and in a last shot at saving it I formated it. It did in fact work, but I lost all of my applications, that included photoshop. After trying two of the free photoediting apps available I wanted to kill my self, and therefore I will not edit any pictures until I get my photoshop back.

Paw print necklace.

O'hai. Yes I know, I'm a bad blogger. At least I always have pictures in my posts.

Now I almost blogged about my fathers birthday gift. Not good. I'll have to blog about it after the fact.

But anyway. I know I forgot to show you the paw print earrings I made, and I really should. Because they gave me the idea of making a paw print necklace. And you know what? It turned out better than I thought it would. I made it in pink, because it is a gift for my boyfriends little sister who turns 10 soon. But I do imagine it would look great in just about any color. Especially black. The paw pattern is here. The string is just chaining until it is the desired length, and then some more for the loop to put the button through. I bought a matching oval button, for easy fastening. I also considered to make the string longer and just tie it in the back, but for a 10 year old the button is probably the best solution.
This week I have been feeling bad, due to side effects from my antidepressant. But one of the days I didn't spend in bed I went out shopping. I bought some birthday presents for some of my best friends, an expensive sweater for myself and, Surprise, surprise; Some yarn. And buttons. The almost white yarn was cheap, the one next to it I bought for the colors and the two remaining was one sale and also won me over by color. Not sure what I'm going to use it for, but probably some earrings and other great ideas of the future. There are also four snap fasteners(If wikipedia is correct) for future handbag projects. In the little white envelope there are four plain black, small, round, two holed buttons for necklaces.

Also the latest week I've registered my hooks on Ravelry, they have a beautiful chart, where you also can ad notes for every single hook. I love it!


I've also fallen in love with this pattern; A short cape.(This is a link to Ravelry, the pattern is a free Ravelry download, but I'm not sure if you can see it.) I really want to make this one. I just think it would be great for winter. And this pattern for a long cape. (Also a link to Ravelry) It is published in this whatever it is. The only thing about this is that it is obviously reserved for Americans, since I can't find a place anywhere online that will ship to Norway! GAH! I want to make a long cape!!!
